Storm water or surface runoff comes from any form of precipitation such as rain, snow and hails. Naturally, precipitation is part of the hydrologic cycle that enables water to be made available to all living organisms and is also responsible for the transport of nutrients, pathogens and sediment in and out of the aquatic ecosystems. However, due to all our manmade infrastructure, the hydrologic cycle gets disrupted. This is where storm water management comes in.
